Joseph Pacello is a tax principal in Rothstein Kass’ Roseland office. Joe specializes in advising hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds and other types of alternative investment entities on matters related to taxation and organizational structure. He also advises clients on various regulatory issues impacting the industry.
Joe started his career as an auditor in the financial services practice of Grant Thornton. He also has Big Four experience and was formerly Senior Vice President and head of Tax at a prominent fund administrator.
Joe earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Seton Hall University and his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School. Additionally, Joe earned a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in taxation from Temple University School of Law. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the Wall Street Tax Association (WSTA). Joe has authored numerous articles regarding tax issues, taught as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University and has taught a graduate course at Fairleigh Dickinson University on the taxation of financial products.
