On October 7, Rothstein Kass Principals Tom Angell and Guy Miller will attend The 12th Annual New Jersey Family Business of the Year 2004 Luncheon and Awards Ceremony at the Doubletree Hotel in Somerset, NJ. The event will honor select successful family businesses in New Jersey. Rothstein Kass will be exhibiting at IRC's Hedge 2004, at the Inter-Continental Hotel in London from October 11-12. IRC Hedge 2004 is a two-day conference that offers learning and networking for hedge fund investors and those connected with the industry. The Firm will also be exhibiting at the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Annual Conference 2004 from October 19-21 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. The three-day event focuses on networking and educational opportunities for professionals in the real estate industry.

On October 20, Crain’s 13th Annual New York Expo takes place at the Hilton New York. Rothstein Kass will exhibit amongst other New York business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs. More than 1,000 attendees are expected to visit this power-packed event, with numerous informative seminars and more than 125 exhibits.

Financial Research Associates (FRA) will be holding its 2004 Tax Practices for Private Equity Funds at The Harvard Club in New York from October 25-26. The conference is tailored exclusively for the administrative general partners of private equity funds and will review the basics of tax planning, discuss new structures, and techniques for tax optimization. Principal Michael Hearne will moderate the presentation titled “Effective Strategies for New Fund Formation - Periodic Tax Issues and Planning Opportunities.”
